VIOLINIST ANURADHA SRIDHAR
Born into a family of musicians of extraordinary pedigree, Anuradha’s knowledge and performing skills were zealousy and meticulously trained and nurtured by a phenomenal musician, performer and teacher - her mother Guru Lalgudi Srimathi Brahmanandam.As a child prodigy Anuradha exhibited boundless potential, reflecting Lalgudi school’s powerful synthesis of “purity, rigour and refinement” in her performances. Anuradha has enthralled listeners the world over for five decades thereafter, with recognition and prized awards from prominent institutions like the Music Academy and Indian Fine Arts Society, Chennai.
In addition to mastery over Carnatic music which is a class act of its own, Anuradha has led adventurous creative productions with distinguished global master musicians featured in the San Francisco World Music Festivals, Walt Disney’s timeless classic Musical The Jungle Book, and Hollywood’s movie production The Book of Stars.
She has composed several magical operas, researching traditional and ancient scripts and presenting them in collaboration with her brother Shriram Brahmanandam. SUSAMSKRUTHAM, SILAPPATHIKARAM, NAUKACHARITHRAMU, ANNAMACHARYA and “THE EVOLUTION OF A MUSICIAN SAINT - THYAGARAJA” which was an animated interactive CD-ROM project are just a few of the many gems created by her.
Anuradha established the Trinity Center for Music in 1989 in California. Her dedication to teaching and the stir created by her students bagged her the covetous "Best Teacher Award" for North America at the Cleveland Aradhana in 2008. The award stood testimony to her tireless efforts in nurturing and fostering students who were a true representation of her passionate pursuit for excellence.
